Devotion to Jesus

It might not have that much relation to the study of 1 Peter, but surely to the study of the New Testament, hence I would like to point your attention to an educational series set up by The Wesley Ministry network.
They have made several course packages for education adult Christians. Their stated purpose is "on meeting the need for high-quality adult educational materials that make accessible to laypeople the broad mainstream of Christian theology." What coaught my attention first was this course on Devotion of Jesus. The divinity of Jesus in earliest Christianity. When, where, and why did people come to believe in the divinity of Jesus. As the informed reader will already have surmised, this might have something to do with Larry Hurtado, and that's correct. It is a series of 8 video lessons with additional material, based on his research and publications on these questions.
The Course Includes: Eight video lessons by Larry Hurtado, each approximately twenty minutes in length; A bonus track featuring selected images from The Methodist Church Collection of Modern Christian Art; A Participant's Guide; A Leader's Guide, including teaching tips, discussion helps, and class exercises, printed in color; A Publicity Packet, including poster, signup sheet, bulletin insert, and postcard masters; A course website, featuring supplemental course materials and links.

The Eight Lessons deal with these topics:
1. Introduction to Jesus Devotion (Click here to see/hear the first lesson)
2. Roman and Jewish Backgrounds
3. Jesus in the Letters of Paul
4. Jesus in Jewish Christianity
5. Jesus in the Synoptic Gospels
6. Jesus in the Gospel of John
7. The Costs and Consequences of Jesus Devotion
8. How Did It Happen? Why Does It Matter Today?

I am enthusiastic about efforts like these to make available to a wider public relevant research from New Testament scholars. And this seems to be one of the better of such efforts.
